Sometimes we go through our days and weeks and it becomes a routine and we don’t realize how the time goes by. The last couple of weeks in the Cedar Rapids / Marion area have been anything but routine. On August 10th, a Derecho tore through our area and the destruction left behind
has been incredible. For 8 days afterwards our area had no power . . .no internet . . .essentially
No cell service . . .and for us no water. Our days were filled with the noise of chain saws and generators and the nights with candles and star gazing. What transpires during a time like this is the spirit of giving and caring come forth. Neighbors helping neighbors and the outpouring of
support from all over was amazing. We received a call from a customer and friend saying he was coming up and bringing equipment and men. Trail Kelly and TCK Concrete drove two hours and spent a Saturday in our area with 15 guys and skid loaders and chainsaws!
This was a tremendous show of support to us and to our community.
Thank you Trail and men!
As we move forward, our lives are not routine right now but our spirit has been lifted and we all will become stronger and more appreciative of what we have
